This is the Instructor’s Manual supporting Textbook 4 and Workbook 4 of New Practical Chinese Reader(2nd Edition). For each lesson, it provides teachers with the objectives and suggested steps of teaching, explanations on the content, notes and grammar points in the Textbook, knowledge about words, grammar points for reference, vocabulary, knowledge about Chinese characters as well as the reference answers and listening scripts for the Workbook. It also provides tests (writing and oral) for the two units (respectively Lessons 39-44 and Lessons 45-50) and the reference answers to them.
A MP3 CD goes with the book, with the listening part of the two unit tests recorded in it.About the Author(s)Liu Xun is a professor at College of Humanities and Social Sciences of Beijing Language and Culture University, chief senior editor of Chinese textbooks of Beijing Language and Culture University Press, and member of the Advisory Committee Board of the HSK Committee. He was a member of the Hanban Expert Advisory Committee for Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language, consultant of Chinese teaching for the New York State Department of Education, board member of World Chinese Teaching Association. His research focuses on Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language, second language acquisition, teaching material development and teachers’ training. He has published Explorations on Pedagogy in Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language, An Introduction to Pedagogy in Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language, A Brief Introduction to Teaching Chinese as a Second Language, An Introduction to Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language; He once assumed the main responsibility in the design of the first set of HSK and was awarded Special Government Allowance from the State Council.
