The present reading book is designed for foreign students of advanced level. It is aimed at the development of the reading skills as well as skills of comprehension and analysis of the original texts in Russian. The students will also learn a lot about the culture and history of Russia.
The first part of this reader includes works (or extracts from texts) of the modern Russian writers written at the beginning of the 21st century. 
All texts in the reader are supplied with lexical, grammatical and literature comments which help to understand them better: the meaning of some Russian proper names, citations and culture aspects.
