El 1970 J. V. Foix va publicar un llibre insòlit que concilia poesia i periodisme com ningú no havia fet mai: Allò que no diu «La Vanguardia».
El llibre, únic en el gènere del periodisme poètic, comprèn unes «Noves de darrera hora» de la segona meitat dels anys 60, i uns «Telegrames» i uns «Fets diversos» publicats originalment a La Publicitat entre 1929 i 1932.
El volum fa molts anys que és fora del mercat; aquesta nova edició s'enriqueix amb un apèndix de 32 «Telegrames» més procedents també de La Publicitat, i amb un pròleg de Pere Gimferrer escrit especialment per a l'ocasió.
