Ursula DOETSCH KRAUS, born in Cologne (Germany), holds a B.Phil. andM.Phil. in Romance Philology from the University of Navarra, Pamplona, and a graduate degree in English Philology from the University of the Basque Country, Vitoria. She entered the world of literarysyn?sthesia with her B.Phil. thesis, La sinestesia en el lenguajepo?tico de Federico Garc¡a Lorca (1974, unpublished), and her M.Phil.thesis, La sinestesia en la poes¡a espa¤ola desde la Edad Media hastamediados del siglo XIX. Un enfoque sem ntico (A¤ejos Rilce/EUNSA,1992), analyses literary syn?sthesia in Spanish poetry prior to French symbolism. She has been working on this Defence of LiterarySyn?sthesia since 1996, with occasional interruptions, anduninterruptedly since 2013.
