Book details

This is the first book in the "YLG Vocabulary" series. It's a study book intended to be used in conjunction with the "YLG Start with English A Pupil's Book and Workbook" - same style and characters, with corresponding stages and topics - but which can also be used effectively on its own.The book systematically builds up pupils' English vocabulary with engaging, topic-based activities. There is a focus on high-frequency words, which help to develop the foundational knowledge essential to language acquisition. It reinforces the vocabulary learnt in the "YLG Pupil's Books and Workbooks", by providing the further exposure required to retain the new language.Together with the other books in the series, it covers all the vocabulary needed for the Cambridge Young Learner tests. Each book contains: 12 full-colour double-page Wordsplashes that clearly demonstrate the vocabulary in context; 4 practice pages per unit, covering word recognition, spelling, reading and writing respectively, to get pupils using the new language accurately and effectively; 3 revision units to further consolidate pupils' new vocabulary skills; and a comprehensive word list so that individual vocabulary items can be found instantly.
